Sanjay Chhel has  written more than 30 successful bollywood films like Rangeela , Yes Boss, Partner, Daud , Kachche Dhage, khuoobsurat, Halo, Phir bhi dil hai Hindustani , One two la four, kya dil ne kaha , Kismet Connection, Jo bole  so nihal, Kyunki, Shadi se pehle, Maine pyar kyun kiya? , Mangaye mughal-e-azam, Rascals, Dil to bachcha hai ji , Indu Sarkar, patel ki punjabi shadi , Love you Loktantra, Jaysukh zadayo etc..

Sanjay Chhel has directed 4 succesfull films like Sanjay dutt & Urmila starrer ‘Khoobsurat’ (1999) , Kya dil me kaha (2002),  Maan gaye Mughal E Azam (2008) & Patel ki Punjabi Shaadi (2017) 

Sanjay Chhel has written more than 50 hit songs like ‘Aye Shivani’ , Nikamma kiya is Dil ne, Mohabbat hai Mirchi , Main heroine hun, Mera ek sapana hai , Ghoonghat me chand hoga , Do you wanna Partner?, Dil dil dil , Bindas, Yeh pal, etc ..

Sanjay Chhel has written 15 successful TV shows & more than 2000 episodes for tv series like DD’s classic Naya Nukkad ( 1993), Filmy Chakkar(19993-95) ) , Philip’s Top 10(1995), Alwida darling ( 1999) Hum Sab baarati (2004) Tarat Mehta ka ulta chashma( 2008-25), Hitler DiDi (2011-12) Krishnaben Khakharawala ( 2010-11) , Sat pheron ki hera pheri ( 2017-18), Namoone ( 2018) & Yeh Un dino ki baat hai ( 2018-19) etc

SANJAY CHHEL has written a mega web series ‘The Secret of the Shiledars’ (2025) which is available on Jio-Hotstar.

A Psychological thrilar drama AAR YA PAAR ( 2024) wriiten by him is the biggest success on Gujratin Theatre.

Sanjay Chhel is a well-known Gujarati – Hindi Short story writer and a popular columnist. For the last 15 years, he has been writing 2 weekly popular columns in leading Gujarati Newspapers like Divya Bhaskar, Mumbai Samachar, and other few.
Sanajay Chhel has written & published 13 books so far , among them 10 Books of ‘Andaze bayan’ series, i.e., collection of his articles published in various newspapers.

Sanjay Chhel’s Gujarati Short Stories collecton ‘POSTER’ was published in (2020).
Sanjay chhel has also written a biography on Legendary theatre actor producer Kanti Madia .

Sanjay Chhel is awrded by 2 prestigious Maharashtra Sahitya Academy Awards for his short story collection ‘Poster’ & an Essay collections : ‘Gamata Chehra ‘ in the year of 2023

Other then writing, Directing & publishing books, Sanjay Chhel is also an acclaimed Painter. He has exhibited his Paintings in Jehangir Art Gallery Mumbai (2018) & Hathisingh Art Gallery (2019) & Gufa Art Gallery A’bad (2020).

Sanjay Chhel has translated satirical works of legendary hindi satirist late Sharad Joshi in to Gujarati. 2 books of Sharad joshi’s selected articles ‘Sharad Joshi speaking’ & ‘Sharad johi ni hasy yatra’ are in the press and will be releasing soon.

Currently Sanjay is busy in writing few web series, planning his upcoming hindi film as a writer-director & compilibg his short stories collections in hindi.
